Two Javelin Throwers and a Shot Putter are to benefit from the 2nd ANOECS Sports Academy Camp in St. Georges, Grenada, this week.
The camp, which targets U18 athletes, runs from Dec 9-14 at the Grenada National Stadium.
Javelin Throwers Tynelle Gumbs and Kevin Vanterpool are attending the camp along with Shot Putter Trevia Gumba and their coach Omar Jones. The camp is funded by the BVI Olympic Committee and will see the territory’s athletes joined by contemporaries from St. Vincent and the Grenadines, St. Kitts-Nevis and the host country.
Tynelle is a 2012 Carifta Games U17 Girls Javelin Throw gold medalist and her twin sister Trevia won the U17 Girls Shot Put silver. This year in her first U20 appearance, Tynelle bagged Javelin silver and Trevia won U20 Girls Shot Put bronze. Both athletes hold the National Jr. Record in their respective events.
