Peter “Adam” Crook is the second Olympian to represent the British Virgin Islands during a Winter Games.
Born in the BVI, Crook moved to Wisconsin, USA at the age of 9. His passion for skiing began in 2001 during his first winter in Wisconsin. At the age of 14 he was accepted into the IMG Academy in Crested Butte, Colorado, where he trained in half-pipe skiing with coaches Noah Brooks and Bud Keene. Crook transferred to Vail Ski and Snowboard Academy, part of the Ski and Snowboard Club Vail, which provided him with additional opportunities to engage in some of the world’s best half-pipe skiing training. Crook spent the next 3 years studying at Vail Ski & Snowboard Academy (VSSA), as well as training and competing full-time throughout the world. Since graduating in 2011, Crook has committed himself to free-skiing full-time.
In 2011, continuing his work as an innovator and role model, Crook helped form the BVI Ski Association, giving him the opportunity to compete in FIS regulated events to represent the BVI. Crook proudly represented the BVI in half-pipe skiing at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games as flag bearer and the sole BVI Olympian. He currently ranks 27th in Halfpipe-skiing by the Association of Freeski Professionals.
