Archery History

The Virgin Islands Archery Association is a Non-profit Organization whose purpose is to develop archery as a sport in the Virgin Islands and to prepare archers for competition in the USA, collegiate, guest divisions, the international stage and the Olympics.

Archery is a sport that just about anyone can participate. There are a lot of former athletes who had to give up competitive sports because of injuries. Whether wheelchair bound, deaf, no arms, blind, archery just might be the sport for you.

The VIAA is here to help everyone find their place if they wish to do so. With 5 certified instructor trainers, and a growing number of instructors, archery will soon be the sport of choice in the Virgin Islands. It is one of the oldest, if not the oldest known sports in the world. It is also one of the few sports where the field of play is even for the sexes.

Our goal is to have every child in the schools, public or private to have the opportunity to shoot a bow, and be eligible to participate in a tournament to represent not only their school but the Virgin Islands. If you would like to assist us on this journey, feel free to contact us.
