A medical doctor, Robin Tattersall had long established himself as one of the leading sailors in the British Virgin Islands.
He organized a group of interested young men and prepared for an Olympic venture in the Soling class.
Already 54 years old at the time of the Los Angeles Games, Dr Tattersall was joined on the three-person keel yacht by 26-year old Keith Thomas and 24-year old Elvet Meyers who was the youngest member of the 1984 Summer Olympic delegation.
